University of the West of Scotland: A Community in Motion
19th November 2020 @ 2:00 pm - 4:30 pmFree
International Men’s Day in the UK is on the 19th November every year. It is celebrated around the world in at least 60 countries. International Men’s Day is a day for men and for others who care about men’s issues to come together to debate, learn about and discuss the issues that are impacting negatively on men in our society but most importantly, the day is also a chance to ask why?
This year, the three core themes for International Men’s Day in the UK are:
- Making a positive difference to the wellbeing and lives of men and boys
- Raising awareness and/or funds for charities supporting men and boys’ wellbeing
- Promoting a positive conversation about men, manhood and masculinity
This free digital event invites you be part of the conversation that is the need to support boys and men in Scotland. In this event, we will build on the ongoing Boys to Men CPD training programme run by Graham Goulden and Professor Ross Deuchar – a digital course that equips participants with the tools & confidence to work effectively with boys & young men.
The focus of our International Men’s Day event will be on building community and how we all have a role in supporting the boys and men in our lives.
A full details of speakers will be revealed nearer the event date. This event is free to attend but advanced registration is essential.
The event will take place on Zoom and links to join will be sent out prior to the event.
