DESCRIPTION:Join us for a fantastic International Men’s Day event\, raising awareness\, supporting charities and breaking down the stigma of mental health\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout this Event\n\n\nInternational Men’s Day is celebrated every November to help break down the stigma around men’s mental health and get men talking about important issues\, offering a chance to make a difference to the lives of men and boys around the world. \nYour host for the afternoon will be Nevil Tynemouth\, joining us from New Results and the Institute of Sales Management. We’re also welcoming several brilliant speakers through our doors to share their personal and professional stories of dealing with stress and mental health. They’ll be delivering talks\, workshops and Q&As on a variety of topics. \nOur nominated charity for the day is If U Care Share\, set up when Daniel O’Hare took his own life with no warning. They encourage people to share their problems and not to bury them\, focusing on prevention\, intervention and support of those bereaved by suicide. DESCRIPTION:This is a brilliant and must attend event – please see the leaflet. \n  \nSoho Speaks Out – In conversation with the men of Soho \n  \nSoho will celebrate International Men’s Day this November with an exclusive Soho Speaks Out panel discussion on\nMonday 18 November\, 6-8pm\, collaborating with some of Soho’s leading influential and inspirational men. \nIn support of Soho-based charity\, Samaritans\, who provide emotional support to those in distress or at risk of\nsuicide\, Soho Speaks Out will address the International Men’s Day themes; “Making a difference for Men and Boys”\nand “How can we give Men and Boys better life chances”. Panellists will discuss challenges in their careers and the\nwider struggles for men and boys in society\, as well as the opportunities available across various industries. \nThe free event will be held in the Chapel at social enterprise members’ club\, The House of St Barnabas\, in the heart\nof Soho\, and will be hosted by Annie Clarke and Will Clempner\, founders of social platform Can We Just Ask. The\npanel discussion will give audience members the chance to participate in a Q&A and networking session. \nBased on Soho’s Marshall Street\, Samaritans’ listening volunteer\, James Spackman\, will be on the panel to discuss\nthe charity’s vital emotional support work and his experience helping men. \nLook forward to hearing from iconic Soho tailor\, Mark Powell\, one of the first fashion designers to revolutionise\ntraditional tailoring and fuse it with contemporary street style. Positioned in Soho since 1985\, Powell will be giving\ninsight into growing and sustaining a successful fashion business as well as addressing the barriers and benefits he\nfaces as a man working in the fashion industry. \nHaving worked with Footpatrol\, the leading destination for contemporary footwear\, apparel and accessories\, since\nits inception\, Jimmy Horrocks\, Area Manager of the cult brand will be on the panel speaking about commitment\nand success. With over 10 years of industry experience\, streetwear-lovers can expect Jimmy’s expertise knowledge\nand a glimpse into the business of retail. \nKricket’s Head Chef and Co-founder\, Will Bowlby\, will be dishing out advice on how to crack the food industry and\nhoning-in on\, and executing\, true skill and passion in the kitchen.
