DESCRIPTION:Hear from the Men and Boys Coalition about their work for International Men’s Day\n\n\n\n\n\nInternational Men’s Day is an annual international event celebrated on 19 November. The objectives of celebrating an International Men’s Day are set out in “The Six Pillars of International Men’s Day”\n\n\nThe aims for 2020 are to \n– Make a positive difference to the wellbeing and lives of men and boys \n– Promote a positive conversation about men\, manhood and masculinity \n– Raise awareness and/or funds for charities supporting men and boys’ wellbeing \nDid you know \n– That men have a higher male suicide rate \n– That there are specific challenges faced by boys and men at all stages of education including attainment \n– That men have shorter life expectancy and are more likely to be the victim of a workplace deaths (Men are more likely than women to die prematurely and one in five men dies before the age of 65 and have a 37% higher risk of dying from cancer overall\, while men are 56% more likely to develop non gender-specific cancers than women and 67% more likely to die from them ) \n– That men are more likely to be homeless and that there is a higher rate of male deaths in custody \nMen can also be \n– victims of violence\, including sexual violence \n– can face particular challenges in relation to their rights as fathers \nGuest Speaker: Dan Bell\, Men and Boys Coalition \nhttps://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/equalities-small-charities-meet-up-international-mens-day-tickets-127680751565
