SUMMARY:Male Psychology Section Annual Conference 2024
DESCRIPTION:This one-day event\, will invite both keynote speakers and presenters to examine the experiences of some of the most vulnerable men and boys in society\, and will promote collaboration between psychologists working in these fields. \nWe hope that with the conference taking place shortly after International Men’s Day itself\, that we will be able to use the occasion to highlight ‘seldom heard’ voices\, and to shine a spotlight on these under-researched areas. \nThe conference will take place at: \n\nUniversity of West London\nSt Mary’s Rd\nLondon\nW5 5RF\n\nThemes & Aims\nFor this year’s conference\, our overarching theme is Vulnerable Men and Boys. \nWe therefore invite presentations on topics including but not limited to: \n\nMen in prison and probation\nBoys in the care system\nMale victims of domestic and sexual violence\nMale victims of homicide and other violent crime\nMale homelessness\nMale mental health and suicide\nMen and family breakdown\nFatherhood and pre/postnatal loss\n\nYou are invited to share your experiences and knowledge on these topics from all areas of\napplied psychology and to submit abstracts addressing this theme through: \n\nResearch\nProfessional practice\nTheory/opinion papers
