Jarrow shows how local communities can celebrate IMD

Primrose Community Association did a brilliant job on International Men’s Day as reported in the Shields Gazette.

They ran a session with Valley View Primary School in Jarrow in County Durham showed why International Men’s Day is a day for celebrating the contribution that men make. Local boys were asked to create artwork based on their male heroes or the men they most looked up to.

They also ran a series of health events and also a race night at the association tonight, with proceeds going to the Orchid men’s cancer charity. Morissons and Wilkinson’s donated prizes.

This is how the community can bring different strands together to celebrate the many facets of International Men’s Day.
