Radstock Council to mark International Men’s Day

Radstock Council in Somerset is to mark International Men’s Day on 16 November.

The local newspaper reports that the event the council will hold will take place on Saturday, November 16, in the Methodist Church Hall, Radstock, from 1pm to 3pm and will be hosted by councillor Mike Boulton, the council’s deputy chairman.

The event will feature a number of agencies such as Sirona Care and Health, the police and fire services and a local gym

Mr Boulton said: “Do come along to find out more about keeping safe.”

Items on the agenda will be tackling male suicide, helping boys become tomorrow’s role models, tackling the tolerance of violence against men and boys, boosting men’s life expectancy by dealing with avoidable illness, and promoting fathers as male role models.

People who are interested in attending should book in advance because organisers would like to know the numbers for catering.
