Every year, International Men’s Day (IMD) in the UK is acknowledged by more and more women, men and organisations across the country and this year Team Durham are excited to be launching a one off webinar event to mark the occasion.

We would like recognise International Men’s Day by offering students, staff and members of the Durham University Community the chance to unpick gender stereotypes in sports coaching.

On 19th November, we will be welcoming a panel of our own expert coaches who offer a wealth of international coaching experience from different sporting backgrounds, discussing the topic, ‘Dispelling the myths of gender stereotyping in Sports Coaching’.

 

Our panel will consist of:

Gareth Weaver- TylerAssistant Coach for the Welsh Women’s Hockey team at the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.

Dave Goodchild, Assistant Coach for the GB Women’s Volleyball team at the 2012 London Olympics, England Senior Head Coach 2015-2018.

Si Culley, Performance Rugby Coach who has worked with representative and contracted players for the last 15 years in the UK, New Zealand and Canada.

Claire Dobison- Lee, Director of ONE-HOCKEY, Junior International Hockey Coach

The webinar is available to everyone free of charge and will take place on Zoom on Thursday 19th November, 7.30pm-9pm.
