It’s Okay to Talk: Men’s Mental Health

November 19 @ 10:00 am - 12:30 pm
Free

Let’s make it easier to talk

Men’s mental health should be an everyday workplace conversation, not something we discuss only when someone reaches crisis point. Join us on International Men’s Day for an open, practical and supportive event focused on breaking stigma, recognising when someone may be struggling and knowing how to start a conversation.

Featuring insight from Andy’s Man Club, the session will explore the pressures men can face in engineering, construction and other male-dominated industries and the practical steps that colleagues, employers, friends and family members can take to offer support.

Why attend?

  • Understand common barriers that can prevent men from seeking support.
  • Learn to recognise signs that a colleague, friend or family member may be struggling.
  • Gain practical language for starting a supportive conversation.
  • Explore how workplace culture can encourage openness rather than silence.
  • Find out what happens at an Andy’s Man Club meeting and where further support is available.

About Andy’s Man Club

Andy’s Man Club runs free, peer-led support groups for men across the UK. Groups meet on Mondays at 7pm, excluding bank holidays. No booking or diagnosis is required, and men can attend without having to speak. The charity provides peer support rather than clinical or emergency mental health services.

Who should attend?

This event is for people across the gas, engineering and construction sectors including employees, employers, managers, industry leaders and anyone who wants to build a more supportive workplace. You do not need prior knowledge or personal experience of mental health issues to take part.
