The IUA HR & Training Committee are pleased to welcome their guest speaker, Richard McCann. As a successful motivational speaker, and true role model, Richard will discuss how embracing change and how to overcome challenges help ignite people’s mindsets and allow them to grow, develop and become more successful. Richard’s presentation centres on the way in which he has turned – what can only be described as insurmountable odds – to his favour and has shaped a more positive life for himself.
We are honoured to welcome Richard to the IUA, where his inspiring narrative will resonate with the audience on a personal and professional level.
Richard McCann is a Sunday Times No1 Bestselling author and his first book, ‘Just a Boy’, has sold close to ½ million copies, being translated around the world and he has been the subject of two BBC documentaries about his extraordinary life story. Brought up on the ‘At Risk’ register until his mother died tragically when he was aged five, Richard found himself on a downward spiral where hitting rock bottom, considered taking his own life. It was at this point that he discovered an inner strength and the gut-wrenching determination to turn his life around and fight for a better future.
His resolve, courage and sheer assertiveness to transform his life has been remarkable. Three books have been published about his life and Richard is a much sought after inspirational speaker.
