Previous research from the Policy Institute, Global Institute for Women’s Leadership and Ipsos UK has highlighted signs of an emerging gender divide in how young men and women view issues such as feminism, masculinity and equality.
As new data from 2025 is released, this event will explore how these attitudes are evolving – and what they mean for the future of gender relations in the UK and beyond.
While much attention is rightly focused on the persistent challenges facing women, men too face significant issues – from higher suicide rates and educational disengagement to evolving expectations around masculinity and mental health.
These parallel struggles suggest gender equality is not a zero-sum game – it instead requires us to address the challenges facing everyone. Rather than deepening divisions, we need constructive conversation and meaningful action to bridge any gender divides, while not losing sight of the significant common ground that exists across these debates.
Held on International Men’s Day, this discussion will unpack the latest findings and consider how social, cultural and online influences are shaping this generation’s outlook on gender and identity – and how we can move toward solutions that work for everyone.
